Terry (or maybe it's me) has been getting more active since 2007. A new record. Some touring. Here's where I've caught him around town. If you'd like to (try to) keep up with him check out the Terry Gillespie web site.

Spirit of Rasputin's Concert
Elmdale House Tavern
May 2nd, 2010 - Sunday night was magic (again)! It was another great concert by SoR but really sparsely attended. The music that they are putting on is amazing and the crowds are spotty.
If you've been watching this space you'll note that, while I'm covering the concerts for SoR, I'm also getting to a lot of Terry's gigs. The two are together here because I made a suggestion and, boy, did it fly!
Terry was in great form and Terry (Owen) and Jeffery Grosvenor were also in great form. This is a format that Terry is taking on the road, Toronto next week and out East later in the Summer. The evening ended with an encore and most everyone got up to dance!

Tucson's
April 17th, 2010 - Saturday night was magic! My Jane invited anyone from her choir and the dancers came! Helen came in from Hudson with some of the band. Terry and Terry were having a great time. Great food! It was wonderful!
The B&W pictures come from the times when the stage was flooded with red light, not my favorite.

The Georgian House, Alexandria
March 11th, 2010 - I drove out to Alexandria to get desert and see Terry & Terry play on a Thursday night. It was fun. Great desert! A different set of music. Lousy pictures! Here's one to show the scene.

The Elmdale House Tavern
March 5th, 2010 - Friday night at the Elmdale! It was a great night, Terry n Terry were groovin and Popo was adding so much all backed up by the hand drums of Jacint Boucher, the base of Jeffery Grosvenor and the solid drums of Wayne Stoute.

The Atlantic Hotel, Alexandria
February 20th, 2010 - Terry plays at The Atlantic a few times a year. Its just down the road from Van Kleek Hill, his home, and its a comfortable tavern with a good audience. This time he was joined by Terry Owen on sax, Joe Hawkins on guitar, Jeffrey Grosvenor on bass & Gordon Adamson on drums.

The Baker Street Cafe
September 26th, 2009 - The Baker Street Cafe has added dinner and Blues on the weekend nights. Terry & band (Vince Halfhide, Terry Owen, Jeffrey Grosvenor and Corky Kealy) were the first act to take the stage. In the dim light I failed to notice that my camera wasn't focusing. Only the last few out of about 50 shots came out. Here's one of them:

The Elmdale House Tavern
September 12th, 2009 - Terry Gillespie on guitar and vocals, Trevor Brewster on guitar, Jacint Boucher on hand drums, Jeffrey Grosvenor on bass, Corky Kealy on drums, Peter Maesroch on keyboards and Terry Owen on sax.

The Elmdale has added some light, which is good, but the colour is horrible so here are some pictures in...
Reggae Night at The Elmdale House Tavern
June 6th, 2009 -Terry Gillespie on guitar and vocals, Vince Halfhide and Trevor Brewster on guitar, Jacthine & Jeffery Grosvenor on hand drums, Corky Kealy on drums, Terry Owen on sax & Owen Brown on bass, direct from Jamaica.
Terry's back - with a big band!
Party at The Elmdale House Tavern
January 31st, 2009 -Terry Gillespie with Trevor Brewster, Jeffery Grosvenor, Corky Kealy & Terry Owen. What a party! Terry is going into the studio and is not going to play publicly for a while so this was a "till we meet again" party in a homey tavern. A wonderful night.
Blues On Tuesday
The Atlantic, Alexandria, Ontario
January 13th, 2009-Peter Measroch, Jody Golick, Terry Gillespie, Gordon Adamson, Stephen Barry and Dave Dragone. This is the Grainery Blues Band - their last gig for a while. It was hoppin!
Tucson's Roadhouse
April 12th, 2008-Terry Gillespie with Vince Halfhide, Jeffery Grosvenor, Corky Kealy & Terry Owen. The band was cookin'! A few new songs - "Blood". I had my new(ish) 30mm, f1.2 Sigma lens for a "normal" view and 1/100 sec or better shutter.
At the Glebe Community Centre
November 22nd, 2007 -Terry Gillespie for the Glebe's Underground Sound. The band was: Terry Gillespie, Peter Maesroch - keyboards, Jeffery Grosvenor - Bass & hand drums. I didn't have the leisure to sit and enjoy the evening and I think it shows in the images. I'm fascinated by the way the camera knows and shows my moods!

October 5th, 2007 - Terry, The Granary Blues Band & Vince Halfhide covered Terry's "Brother of the Blues" in the first set and a potpouri of favorites in the second. The band was Terry Gillespie, Vince Halfhide - guitar, Peter Maesroch - piano, Jody Golick - sax, Stephen Barry - bass & Gordon Adamson - drums.
I travel light to these shows - camera body with my one fast fixed lens - 85mm, f1.8. Most shots are f1.8 at about 1/100sec. The 85mm is good for portrait work but poor on covering shots so I do panoramas of multiple images to get the coverage.
Tucson's Roadhouse
August 10th, 2007 -Terry and friends played Tucson's Roadhouse. The band was:Terry Gillespie, Vince Halfhide - Guitar, Corky Kealy - Drums, Jeffery Grosvenor - Bass & Terry Owen - Sax.
