Stitched panoramas have become natural to me. If a scene goes beyond the size of what the lens includes then take two pictures and stitch them together.Or take more. How about two overlaping rows of 12?
So you can have very large prints from a 35mm-format camera. But wait, there's more! The warping of the images to get them to fit together changes the shape and feel of the final image in a way that draws the viewer into the scene. People respond to the images with a sigh.
Beware, this area is very much under construction. Watch out for falling ladders!
